About Hartlepool Sea Cadets

Hartlepool Sea Cadet Unit was formed in 1938 with its original name, T.S. Jervis. Some time after (exact time is not known), the unit changed its name to T.S. Jarvis (if you know exactly when or why this was please let us know). After this, once again the unit changed its name to T.S. Abdeil to correspond with the units affiliated ship, HMS Abdeil. Finally in 1999 the unit adopted the name T.S. Trincomalee when the unit affiliated ship was decommissioned. The unit now enjoys close links with its new (old) affiliated ship, HMS Trincomalee.

The unit has been at its current location, on Hartlepool's Marina, Middleton House, Middleton Road since 1999, and consists of Sea Cadets, Junior Sea Cadets and Marine Cadets.
